The Department of Human Resources is responsible for the administration of employee relations, benefits, payroll, classification, compensation, training and development, grievance, and appeals. Polk County Human Resources provides programs and services in support of developing, promoting, and administering personnel policies and procedures to ensure a high-performing workforce and organizational excellence.
E-VERIFY
E-Verify is an Internet-based system that allows an employer, using information reported on an employee's Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, to determine the eligibility of that employee to work in the United States. Eligibility employment verification is mandatory for municipalities. The E-Verify system is operated by the Department of Homeland Security in partnership with the Social Security Administration.Polk County participates in the E-Verify system. Polk County’s E-Verify identification number is 154185.
