The Planning and Zoning Board of Polk County works diligently to guide the development and growth of our community, balancing progress with sustainability. By regulating land use and zoning standards, they help create a cohesive vision for residential, commercial, and public spaces. PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETINGS:

The Polk County Planning and Zoning Board meets on the third Thursday of every month unless there are no items on the agenda. Meetings are hosted at the Polk County Commissioners Meeting Room located at: 73 Clines Ingram Jackson Road, Cedartown, Ga 30125.

OCTOBER PUBLIC NOTICES:

The Polk County Planning Commission will conduct a public meeting on November 20th, 2025 at 6:00PM in the Polk County Board of Commissioners meeting room, located at 73 Clines Ingram Jackson Road, Cedartown, GA 30125.

The Planning Commission will review the following applications:

  • Case #: SU-25-04: Sawyer Land Services, LLC. requesting a special-use permit for property located at Taylorsville Rd. Taylorsville, GA 30178 (Tax Parcel: 062-003, 062-003A, 062-003C). This property contains 83.11 acres.
  • Case #: V-25-09: Kirankumar Patel requesting a variance for property located at 650 Prior Station Rd. Cedartown, GA 30125 (Tax Parcel: 018-060A). The applicant requests a variance to buffer requirements. This property contains 1.19 acres.
  • Case #: V-25-10: Lance Fowler requesting a variance for property located at Cut Log Rd. Cedartown, GA 30125 (Tax Parcel: 035-001J). The applicant requests a variance to setback requirement for accessory structure. This property contains 5 acres.
  • Case #: V-25-11: Satwant Singh requesting a variance for property located at 1028 Cedartown Hwy. Rockmart, GA 30153 (Tax Parcel: R07-042). The applicant requests a variance to setback / buffer requirement. This property contains .68 acres.
  • Case #: Z-25-15: Jason Crowe requesting to rezone property located at Cedartown Hwy. Rockmart, GA 30153_(Tax Parcel: 042-146). The applicant is requesting to rezone the property from A-1 to C-1. This property contains 1.79 acres.

The Polk County Board of Commissioners will review the applications on December 2nd, 2025 at 5:15PM. The meeting will be held in the Commission Meeting Room, located at 73 Clines Ingram Jackson Road, Cedartown, GA 30125. If you have any interest in the proposed rezoning, you are encouraged to attend the meetings as stated herein.
