Polk County Public Works is dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the infrastructure that keeps our community running smoothly. Public Works' primary responsibilities include the maintenance of roads, bridges, road signs, drainage and vegetation control. The Public Works Department exists to provide safe and efficient movement of people and goods within the county and is committed to maintaining a well-kept and safe community.

CONVENIENCE CENTERS
Polk County operates six staffed convenience centers for use by county residents to dispose of household waste.  Commercial waste or waste generated by commercial operations is prohibited. All centers have recycling bins for cardboard, aluminum, and paper.
