Polk County Citizens Academy gives residents an opportunity to become civically engaged by building positive relationships with county officials while furthering their education through familiarization with county processes. Through the academy, citizens will get a behind-the-scenes look at county operations and become ambassadors for the place they live, work, and play – Polk County!

SCHEDULE
Polk County Citizens Academy takes place over a 5-week period consisting of 4 learning sessions followed by a graduation ceremony. Learning session times to be determined based upon applicant response.
JUNE 2, JUNE 9, JUNE 16, JUNE 23, AND JULY 1
ENROLLMENT
Enrollment for Citizens Academy will be limited to ensure maximum quality of instruction. Please utilize the link below to access application. All selected participants will be notified by May. Due to the high volume of applicants anticipated, individuals who are not selected will not be notified but are encouraged to apply for future sessions. To qualify for the Citizens Academy, applicants must be:
- 18 Years of Age or Older
- Live, Work, or Have Expressed Interest in Polk County
- No Felony Convictions
- No History of Patterns Which Display Disregard for Law Enforcement
There is a
$20 fee for the program to provide cohort members with shirts, certificate of completion, light refreshments, and session materials. The deadline to submit applications is
